Health Insurance for the Unemployed

Take Care Health Systems and Walgreens have partnered and unified in their committment to help the unemployed and uninsured through the new Take Care Recovery Plan. The Take Care Recovery Plan offers FREE healthcare services at Take Care Clinics throughout the remainder of 2009 to all patients, and their families, that suffer a job loss on or after March 31, 2009 and have no health insurance benefits.

Find Take Care Clinics near you and more information on the take care program here. There are currently 341 clinics in 35 markets around the country. Take Care clinics typically treat common ailments such as respiratory problems, infections, and skin conditions. Some services, such as check-ups and vaccinations, will not be free and services will be provided from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. You must provide proof of unemployment.

You can read more about the Plan in this Associated Press article on the topic. Kudos to Walgreens and Take Care Health Systems for recognizing the problems with our healthcare systems and finding a way to help out the unemployed in our society today.
