FrumUs - group gifts

FrumUs is a cool newish website that provides a unique service filling a need many of us have experienced in our lives. FrumUs is a group gifting site designed to simplify the process of collecting money from a large group of people to buy one gift. This site is great for teacher gifts, coach gifts, birthday gifts, Boss' Day/Administrative Professionals Day, etc. - this list could go on and on.

Karen O'Neil started FrumUs after her son's baseball season ended in 2006 without a group gift being purchased for the coach. After the season, with no way to pass an envelope, Karen developed the website where users can interact via email to facilitate contribution to the group gift.

FrumUs features gift envelopes to collect money, vote, gather comments and shop. The site is FREE to sign up with and use and makes collecting for a group gift a painless and time-saving experience. You can choose from hundreds of gifts and hundreds of retailers as suggested gifts but can ultimately choose to spend the money collected anywhere online. The person designated as purchaser will need a Paypal premier account and people may contribute to the gift using Paypal or their major credit card.

For those of you who (like me) are always the one passing the envelope through the office or your group of friends to collect for a group gift, FrumUs offers a unique and time-conscious experience.
