Survey Company: Synovate
I have been a member of Synovate for over a year now and enjoy the variety of surveys I receive from them. Also, they frequently send me items for product tests and I love product tests! Synovate emails are from the name "Marie Brighton" and I average about 5 per week. I qualify for the majority of them and their threshhold of $10 to cash out is reasonable.

It's FREE to sign up for Synovate. Use your separate email address for surveys when you sign up. I don't get any spam from them but it's easier to have all your survey invitations in one inbox apart from your personal emails.
For more information on other survey companies I am signed up with, check out my previous survey posts.

Earn Holiday Money Doing Surveys!
I have posted many times about doing online surveys but wanted to highlight surveys as a money-making opportunity as we enter the holiday season! Everyone can always use a few extra bucks so take some time when you're at home in your pjs, on the phone, or even watching TV and take a few surveys!
Here are my top 5 tips for taking online surveys:
1. Sign up with as many survey companies as possible. I'm going to highlight my top 6 in this post but you'll want to check out the surveys link on my blog to find more.
2. Use a separate email address for just surveys. That way your personal email inbox won't get overwhelmed! Schedule times each week for doing surveys.
3. Know that you won't always qualify for every survey. You'll never know what the demographic they are looking for is so just keep doing them!
4. Keep track of earnings and cash out frequently. Each company handles payment different. Keep a spreadsheet of each company's cahs out threshhold and method. Choose Paypal for the quickest payment.
5. Do the higher value surveys from the companies you do the best with first. As you do more surveys, you'll get to know which companies you do the best with. Choose these surveys first, from highest value to lowest value. Be strategic in the order you complete the surveys in your inbox.
Interested in signing up for surveys? My top 6 survey companies currently are:
1. My Survey
2. HCD Surveys
3. Opinion Outpost
4. Ipsos-I-Say
5. Pinecone Research
6. Say Nation
Check out the other survey companies I have blogged about previously.

Pinecone Surveys - Registration Open!
I haven't posted about surveys in a while. I do surveys every day, sometimes just 1 or 2, other times I'll sit for an hour and do surveys, it just depends on my schedule. I typically earn about $100 or so per month on surveys and focus groups, etc. I love earning money in my pj's from home while in front of the TV. It's even better when a survey leads to a product test. I recently for a free 6 pack of toilet paper to try out!
Pinecone is la creme de la creme when it comes to survey companies. It's even invite only! You won't get bombarded with emails. I receive approximately 1-2 screener surveys per week. The screener surveys are short and if you qualify you'll get an invitation to complete the survey within a few days. They always give you a deadline by which the survey must be completed and I like knowing that I qualify for the survey and my time won't be wasted.

Pinecone surveys pay $3 each and you can elect to receive the money via Paypal or check. They automatically send the money after each survey so there is no need to remember to cash out or wait until you get to a set amount. Pinecone registration is by invite only and I've got an invite for you all - just click on the graphic above and enter your information. Please note that they are especially interested in people who live alone, English speaking Hispanic Americans, and surfers between 18 and 24 years old. I don't get any spam from Pinecone but you should use your separate deals or surveys email address when you sign up.

Join Nielsen HomeScan!
I blogged before about Nielsen HomeScan and am happy to announce that they have reopened their applications! I have heard from several readers who tried again to apply and were accepted this time after being denied the first time. Don't be discouraged if you aren't accepted - just try again in a month or so. You never know what demographic they are looking for at any given time.
Nielsen HomeScan is a program that is FREE to join and you are never under any obligation to continue the program. You fill out their application and once accepted are mailed a handheld scanner which you scan all of your purchases into each week.

The information you scanned is uploaded via your computer once a week and that's it! You earn points for each week you scan and upload the items and the points convert to prizes! There are also occasional surveys to complete that give you points. Remember "playing cashier" when you were little? Now you can do it as an adult, from the privacy of your own home - and even earn some prizes! ;)

Toluna/Your2Cents Surveys
Your2Cents is now Toluna Surveys! I have been a member of Your2Cents for over a year now and have cashed out several times with them. They do not send many surveys but I qualified frequently for the ones that I did receive.
Remember to use your separate "surveys" email when you sign up. I don't receive any spam on the email account I use for surveys - yay! I love knowing that when I open that email, it will be filled with survey opportunities for me.

As always, it's completely FREE to sign up for Toluna/Your2Cents and you're under no obligation to complete any surveys. Often, surveys lead to great product tests and if you're able to earn just $3 per day doing surveys, that's over $90 per month which is my gas money!
Some of the other surveys companies already reviewed on this blog are Lightspeed, Greenfield, Global Test Market, Survey Savvy, SayNation, Valued Opinions, American Consumer Opinion, Opinion Outpost , Zoompanel,Have you signed up for all of them?

CVS Advisor Panel
Many of you emailed me after my post on Sunday about how I got $10 in ExtraCareBucks for completing a CVS survey.
I did it because I am signed up for the CVS Advisor Panel. I have been signed up with them for about 8 months and this is the second $10 survey I have received. It's FREE to sign up and they are accepting new participants now. You just link your ExtraCare card to your account and then get paid for completing occasional surveys in ExtraCareBucks!

My View Survey Panel
My View Survey Panel is another of the legit survey companies that I have been (and continue to be) a member of. My View gives you a pre-qualifying series of questions before connecting you to the larger survey. I get at least one invitation per day to My View surveys.

My View is specifically looking for males at this moment but anyone is eligible to join. Have your hubby or boyfriend sign up to earn some extra money and maybe even get some cool new products to test!

EPoll Surveys
I have been a member of EPoll Surveys for approximately 8 months and enjoy the surveys that they send. I receive only about 1 per week but wish they sent more! I find their surveys to be thoughtful with very fair compensation. I have received several product tests from EPoll as well and I love product tests!

I have cashed out several times for Starbucks giftcards. You can choose among many retail stores and redeem your points for merchandise and giftcards. Remember, it's FREE to sign up and you are under no obligation to complete any surveys.

NPD Online Research
I have been a member of NPD Online Research for several months now. NPD is different from the other survey companies I have discussed so far in that for most surveys you are compensated in points which you can then enter in their "Sweepland" area. They let you know which sweepstakes you can enter into and you decide where and how to allocate your points into their giveaways.

From time to time, I get a survey with cash compensation and this is specifically outlined in your survey invitation. I receive approximately 1-2 survey invitations per week from NPD - they definitely do not flood your inbox! Like with all survey companies, I recommend having your own separate web-based email addresses just for surveys. That way, you'll have all survey invitations in one place and can log on at your leisure to complete the surveys you choose to do. Remember, it's FREE to join and you are under no obligation to complete any surveys.

SurveySpot
I have a love-hate relationship with SurveySpot. I have made more money with them than with any other survey site. What's the "hate" side of the relationship? Most of the surveys I do start out as "sweepstakes only". A lot of them end in a product test, an invitation to a high-paying online forum survey, or an invitation to join an online community where I get paid in giftcards for nominal weekly participation.
I get surveys from SurveySpot every day and sometimes complete them if I have time. In case you have a lot of time on your hands, you'll have to learn to ignore some of their survey invites. They won't tell you which ones might lead to product tests or online community or forum invitations, you just roll the dice and take a chance. For me, it pays off a lot of the time. I cash out each month with SurveySpot (you need $5 to request a check) and have always been paid timely with no issues.
It's FREE to sign up and you are under no obligation to complete surveys. After each survey you are given the option to see if other surveys are available. Keep clicking - they usually are. I have gotten some of my best rewards and coolest product tests when I just kept on clicking!

MySurvey
MySurvey is another great and legit survey company. I receive approximately 1-2 invitations to complete surveys per week. You will usually get a 10 point screener survey and if you qualify to complete the larger survey that will be revealed during the screener and you will be given the option to continue.

With MySurvey you accumulate points that can be redeemed for cash, prizes and even charity donations! As always, it's FREE to join and there is no obligation to complete any surveys.

Clinical Trials and Focus Groups
Signing up for clinical trials and focus groups can be a great way to earn some good money. Clinical trials involve taking a certain medication or following a certain prescribed routine (or a placebo) and the evaluation of results. A focus group can be online or in person and is like an extended survey. There are focus groups available for just about anything from new menu items at restaurants to reactions to various products.
Focus Groups
There are several focus group companies that I am signed up with. I receive periodic emails from them and if I am interested, respond to see if I qualify. They often involve 5 hours or so on the computer with compensation of over $100! Many offer in person focus groups as well as online focus groups.
I am signed up with:
20/20 Research
Schlesinger Associates
Focus Forward

Pharmaceutical companies are looking for individuals with the conditions below for FREE evaluation, medication, travel and additional compensation for participating in clinical trials. If you or someone you know has one of these conditions, consider seeing if you qualify for these clinical trials.

Pinecone Research - My FAVE!
Pinecone Research is my favorite survey company for many reasons. The first is that I receive short screener surveys that take no more than 5 minutes approximately 2-4 times per month. If I qualify based on the screener survey then I am sent the survey within a week or so. Once you receive the survey there is NO disqualification. You know you've qualified and you'll be paid.
Another reason is that Pinecone pays $3 per survey and automatically mails you the check (or sends the money via paypal, your choice) within days after you complete the survey. They also send many product tests and answer questions via email promptly. Pinecone Research is an "invite only" survey company and I am excited to report that I received a referral link in my email to share with you all. You can't just go to their site and sign up, you need to have received a referral. It's FREE to sign up and start giving your opinion!
UPDATE: My referral link is dead. To find a banner, check out this site and if it says "USA Pinecone is open" click there to sign up.

Hotspex and Points.com
No, the title isn't a typo! Hotspex is the name of a very cool and different survey company that I have been a member of for 6 months. Hotspex's surveys are unlike the rest in their approach, graphics, and perspective. With Hotspex you earn "bux" for doing surveys (and spinning the bonus wheel during surveys) and bux can be converted to points on points.com. Despite the title, these are not "adult-only" surveys....
You can click here to sign up FREE for Hotspex and here to sign up FREE for Points.com

With Points.com you can link your Hotspex account with other rewards account such as hotel and airline programs and use your points from these programs to add to other program's accounts and/or redeem for gift cards and/or merchandise. I used my Hotspex points on points.com to get Amazon e-certificates. With over 50 program partners (airlines, hotels, retail, financial), points.com is the place to consolidate your balances from all these programs and redeem for something great!

Greenfield Online
Greenfield Online is a large survey company with lots of surveys for you to take. Many Greenfield surveys get you only an entry into their sweepstakes while others earn you cash. You need a minimum of $5 to cash out and they will mail you a check within a few weeks.

I have been signed up with Greenfield for 6 months now and have cashed out several times. I have also been invited (and qualified) to participate in several online bulletin board/forums that earned me $25! Greenfield will send daily invites but I ignore the ones that aren't for money unless I have some time to take them. Sign up for FREE with Greenfield online here.
If you consider yourself Hispanic, Greenfield has a special panel for Hispanics that you can also sign up for FREE at right here.
Some of the other surveys companies already reviewed on this blog are Global Test Market, Survey Savvy, SayNation, Valued Opinions, American Consumer Opinion, Opinion Outpost , Zoompanel, Ipsos I-Say, HCD Surveys, and university-sponsored sites. Have you signed up for all of them?

Lightspeed Research
Lightspeed Research is another survey company that is FREE to join. Lightspeed sends me approximately 3 surveys per week (though this may depend on your specific demographic) and you are under no obligation to complete every survey.

You earn points by completing surveys and then redeem the points for prizes, including Amazon e-certificates. When you combine your Amazon e-certificates from Lightspeed Research with the ones you got from normal everyday web searches on Swagbucks you'll find your Amazon account balance increasing every week!

Mindfield Survey Panel
Mindfield Survey Panel is another legitimate survey company I am signed up with. I receive approximately 5 surveys per week from Mindfield and find that many are through the OTX survey company.

The thing I like about Mindfield is that if you disqualify, you do it in the very beginning of the survey and not after minutes have passed like some other companies. Mindfield recently revised their rules so you are able to cash out with less earnings than before. As always, it is FREE to sign up and you are under no obligation to take every survey you receive.

SurveyHead
SurveyHead is a fun survey company that pays you via Paypal (free to sign up for). You'll get $5 just for signing up and are able to cash out when you reach $25.00. SurveyHead is unique from other survey companies in that they tell you up front just how good your odds of qualifying for a survey are. They also tell you how much you will receive for successful completion of the survey.

I love knowing that I will probably qualify for a survey and that my time is not being spent answering questions to later disqualify. As with all survey companies highlighted on my blog, SurveyHead is legit and FREE to join!
