I received a cake from Bake Me A Wish to celebrate my birthday! We had it a day early (yesterday) at work to celebrate. The cake arrived on Tuesday via UPS and was packed in a box with an ice pack - and was still cold when I opened it even though it's like 100 degrees here in south Florida, and that's in the shade! The actual box the cake was in was an adorable gold and purple and the cake was well-packed. It wasn't smushed at all and as I took the cake out of the box at work, my co-workers were oohing and aahing.
I was lucky enough to sample the "Triple Chocolate Enrobed Brownie Cake" which is billed as "moist & fudgy brownie cake goes through three chocolate "passes": first, it's enrobed in rich chocolate, then completely blanketed with dark chocolate shaves and finally, milk and dark chocolate glazes drizzled all over". Let me tell you - this was one decadent cake!
They included a Belgian Chocolate Plaque on the cake wishing me a happy birthday - they have many other messages to choose from to add a personal touch to your cake. The cakes come in a wide variety of flavors (like Red Velvet Chocolate Cake and S'more Brownie Cake!) and the ingredients are all high-quality and come from an award-winning family run bakery in New York City that works with some of the country's most high-end pastry chefs!
As if all this wasn't enough, this is a socially responsible company who gives 5% of the proceeds from the sales of its cakes to a program that gives birthday cakes each month to soldiers abroad who are celebrating their birthdays away from their loved ones.
The cake was moist and fudgy and tasted absolutely delicious! My co-workers loved it too! It says it serves 6-8 people. We were 8 people and had some leftover because this cake is RICH! It was a great way to celebrate my birthday and I thank the Bake Me A Wish people so much for sending me this cake for my birthday.
